Aloxe-Corton is located in eastern France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and the Côte-d’Or department, just north of Beaune at the transition between the Côte de Beaune and the foothills of the Corton hill. The village sits directly against the slopes of the Montagne de Corton, where vineyards rise steeply on limestone and marl soils. A distinctive geographical feature is the wooded summit of the hill, which forms a natural backdrop to the cultivated landscape below. Water is present through small streams draining toward the Rhoin and further into the Saône basin. A holiday in Aloxe-Corton is shaped by this compact interaction between terrain and settlement. The A31 motorway nearby ensures efficient north–south accessibility, while Beaune’s railway station provides wider regional connections. Walking routes climb gradually toward the hill and follow vineyard boundaries, and cyclists use clearly marked wine routes linking neighboring villages. Staying in a B&B in Aloxe-Corton often places visitors within the small village core. On the outskirts, larger properties such as a villa in Aloxe-Corton offer open views over vines and slopes. A holiday home in Aloxe-Corton allows visitors to experience the Corton landscape at an unhurried pace. The village’s character emerges where relief, infrastructure and cultivated hillsides come together naturally.
