Métabief is located in eastern France, within the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of the European Union, on the high Jura plateau close to the Swiss border. The village lies at the foot of Mont d’Or, one of the highest peaks in the Jura, and is surrounded by forests, alpine meadows, and open ridgelines. This elevated setting shapes both the climate and the landscape, making seasonal activities central to a holiday in Métabief. In winter, the slopes above the village form one of the main ski areas of the Jura, while in summer the same terrain is used for hiking, mountain biking, and paragliding. Water features appear in the form of mountain streams and nearby peat bogs that feed the upper Doubs basin. Métabief is accessible via the D45 road and is connected to Pontarlier by regional bus and rail links, allowing easy movement without urban pressure. Staying in a B&B in Métabief often means direct access to trails and lifts. A villa in Métabief, set slightly higher on the slopes, offers wide views over the plateau. A holiday home in Métabief combines altitude, outdoor sport, and open space in a landscape defined by relief and changing seasons.
