Although the party and beach vibe are iconic for Ibiza, the island also offers plenty of nature and relatively quiet beaches. Rent a car, go off-road on a jeep safari and explore the magnificent landscape dominated by pine trees and junipers. You can also set out on foot from your holiday home in Ibiza and relax at one of the many chiringuitos after cooling off in the turquoise waters. At these authentic beach bars, you’ll experience the true laid-back Ibiza feeling – ideally with the island’s signature drink, Hierbas Ibicencas!
Ibiza may be small, but it has a surprisingly large number of beaches. Renting a car is almost essential, although some beaches can also be reached by bus or ferry. Want to explore beyond the capital and visit different coastal spots? Then be sure to check out the following beaches:
This beach can be reached by bus from Sant Antoni and lies in a deep bay surrounded by lush vegetation, including twisted Savina trees. There are several good restaurants here, and children can swim safely. Find a shady spot under the pine trees and enjoy the view over the brilliantly blue sea.
Sa Calata is another perfect beach to unwind, surrounded by trees. Although it’s quite short, its orange cliffs, gentle waves, and shallow seabed that deepens only far offshore make it truly special. For diving or snorkeling, Cala Xarraca in the peaceful north of the island is ideal – with clear, calm waters and an unspoiled atmosphere.
Just a short walk from Ibiza Town, Talamanca is a popular beach with fine white sand and very shallow water. If you want a drink or something to eat, simply follow the boardwalk that connects various bars and restaurants along the beach.
Ibiza Town is undoubtedly the island’s most charming and historic place. From the city walls of the old town (Dalt Vila), you can look out over the whitewashed houses below. The area is full of small squares with tapas bars and narrow flower-filled streets, while the fortress offers panoramic views. One particularly photogenic spot is S’Escalinata – a terrace lined with colorful cushions on a broad staircase.
Beyond Ibiza Town, the island has many beautiful villages where you can enjoy idyllic tranquility. Want to truly experience the Ibiza vibe and see much of the island? Then rent a car and explore countless hidden spots from your holiday home in Ibiza! Some areas, such as Portinatx, are home to lovely beaches. This northern bay has a few restaurants and crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. A great way to explore the island is by joining a jeep tour – drive along dirt roads, reach places you wouldn’t otherwise see, and enjoy breathtaking views of cliffs and pine-covered hills while hearing fascinating facts about Ibiza’s flora, fauna, and history.
For a more exclusive atmosphere, head to Beachclub Amante. This cliffside venue features several terraces, allowing you to relax on a sunbed near the beach or enjoy a drink from the elevated deck. Be sure to reserve a table – it’s very popular! Another great chiringuito is Es Cubells, known for its charming view and excellent menu, from paella to delicious desserts. The prices match the setting, but with shaded seating under the pines and sunbeds on the cozy beach, it’s well worth it.
Ibiza offers plenty of options for nature lovers looking to stay active! It may surprise some party-goers, but since about half the island consists of untouched nature, exploring on foot is a must. A rewarding climb starts in San Josep and leads to the summit of Sa Talaia. The panoramic views from the top are breathtaking, though you’ll need a decent fitness level. Prefer a coastal walk? Follow the trail from Portinatx to Moscatar and enjoy cliffs, coves, and lush green hills along the way.
Along the southern coast lies the mysterious Atlantis hike – a route you simply have to experience! The rocks here were once quarried to build the old town of Dalt Vila, leaving behind formations that resemble a submerged city with natural pools. The sculpted shapes and surreal scenery make this route an unforgettable adventure.
Ibiza is an island full of contrasts! Many visitors head to the lively south to party, leaving the vast nature of the north almost untouched. It’s not uncommon to find yourself alone in this pristine region. To explore the beautiful coastline with hidden beaches, renting a car is the best option. And of course, no trip to Ibiza is complete without visiting a chiringuito – these simple yet atmospheric beach bars by the sea are the perfect place to enjoy cocktails such as the local herbal liqueur. Ready to swim in shallow turquoise water and breathe in the scents of rosemary and almond blossom? Rent a holiday home in Ibiza and alternate scenic hikes with a legendary jeep tour!
