Ulrum is a historic village in the province of Groningen, beautifully situated between the Reitdiep valley and the coastal landscapes leading to the Wadden Sea. This centuries-old mound village (terp) is known for its striking churches, characteristic farmhouses, and peaceful charm. Once a center of religious history — linked to the 19th-century Secession movement — Ulrum still breathes culture and tradition. Surrounded by dikes, meadows, and cycling routes, it offers endless opportunities for exploring the northern Dutch countryside. Nearby are Lauwersmeer National Park and the harbor village of Zoutkamp, both perfect for nature and water enthusiasts.
